Detention of Criminals
Investigators have completed the pre-trial investigations. The suspects face fines of up to 170,000 hryvnias.

On June 7 of last year, patrol police stopped a “Volkswagen T4” on T. Shevchenko Street, driven by a 50-year-old local resident. During the inspection of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered 7 cardboard boxes containing 49 kilograms of illegally manufactured excise goods.
Additionally, on September 27, police stopped a “Renault Kangoo” van on D. Halytskyi Street, driven by a 64-year-old local resident. The van contained 217 bags of tobacco; however, the man did not provide any documents confirming its compliance and quality.
Court Prospects
Two suspects have been notified of their suspicion of committing a crime under part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and transportation of illegally manufactured alcoholic beverages and tobacco products) under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office. The excise goods have been seized and placed under arrest.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the materials from two criminal proceedings have been sent to court.
