Drunk Driver Detained in Rivne on Kyiv Street

In Rivne, on Kyiv Street, patrol officers stopped a Volkswagen vehicle driven by a 56-year-old man. During their interaction with the driver, the police noticed signs of alcohol intoxication.

The driver refused to undergo a sobriety test using a breathalyzer at the stop but expressed a desire to take a medical examination at a healthcare facility.

The results of the examination were positive — 1.73 promille of alcohol in his blood. The patrol officers filed administrative reports against the man under two articles:

  • Part 1 of Article 130 (Driving Under the Influence) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses;
  • Part 2 of Article 126 (Driving a Vehicle by a Person Who Does Not Have the Right to Drive Such a Vehicle) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

Additionally, the inspectors towed the vehicle to the impound lot.
