Rivne will pay tribute to the fallen Defenders Oleksandr Bohomazyuk and Viktor Boyko.

Oleksandr Bohomazyuk, born on August 15, 1984, in Kaliningrad, Russia, lived in Dubno since childhood and graduated from school in Rivne – at School No. 23.
After completing his education, Oleksandr served in the army and then worked in various fields. In September 2024, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Oleksandr never complained about his service, quickly adapted to military life, and spoke warmly of his comrades. He was kind and generous. In his free time, he enjoyed crafting and repairing various equipment, including watches,” said the Defender’s sister.
Unfortunately, 41-year-old Senior Sergeant Oleksandr Bohomazyuk was killed on November 23, 2025, as a result of enemy shelling while carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv region. He is survived by his parents, sister, and daughter.
Viktor Boyko, born on September 13, 1970, in the village of Chernitsa in the Korchev region, also moved to Rivne during his childhood. He studied at the local 13th and 24th schools and later at a textile technical school.
After his studies, he worked as a technology technician at the Rivne non-woven materials factory. He later served in the army and engaged in various activities, including abroad. Viktor was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2025.
“He was very kind and never refused to help anyone. When he went to war, he always said he was doing well – he tried not to worry anyone unnecessarily,” said the Defender’s mother.
Unfortunately, 54-year-old Sergeant Viktor Boyko was killed on June 11, 2025, in the Donetsk region, as confirmed by DNA testing results. Viktor is survived by his mother, brother, and two children.
The farewell to Oleksandr Bohomazyuk and Viktor Boyko will take place on Tuesday, December 2, at 10:00 AM in Independence Square in Rivne. The servicemen will be buried at the Heroes’ Alley of the “Nove” cemetery in the regional center.
