Recently, during a patrol near the village of Zhdan, community police officers from Police Station No. 2 (settlement of Zarichne) discovered individuals engaged in the illegal extraction of “sunstone.” As a result of the actions taken by the investigative-operational group, two “VAZ 2121” vehicles, two makeshift motor pumps, and other tools for illegal mining were seized.
Additionally, operatives from the Sarny District Police Department noticed a woman behaving suspiciously in a forested area near the village of Fedorivka. During a superficial check, almost one kilogram of amber was found and seized from the 37-year-old resident of the village of Krychylsk.
All seized items will be sent for examination as part of the initiated criminal proceedings. Under the provisions of the article, offenders face imprisonment of 2 to 3 years.
