On April 18 at 5:35 PM, a massive fire occurred in one of the apartments of a 9-story residential building on A. Melnyka Street in Rivne.

Emergency response units from the 1st, 3rd, and 25th state fire and rescue departments, as well as a fire ladder and specialists from the regional emergency management center, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, rescuers found that the fire had engulfed an apartment on the 5th floor and had spread to a neighboring apartment through the balcony. To extinguish the fire, rescuers immediately deployed fire-fighting substances, which helped prevent further spread of the flames into the neighboring apartment.
During the incident, 4 residents from the upper floors of the building were rescued.
The fire destroyed construction tools, household items, windows, and doors, and also damaged furniture on the balcony of the 5th-floor apartment. The flames destroyed the balcony windows and caused damage to the interior wall finishes of the neighboring apartment’s balcony.
The causes of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently being investigated.
A total of 4 fire units and 20 rescuers were involved in extinguishing the fire.
