Yuriy Lapchuk, born on April 19, 1987, in Rivne, graduated from Vocational School No. 1. After his studies, he served in the army and later worked as a driver for the municipal enterprise “Teplotransservis.”

In July 2009, Lapchuk began his service in the internal affairs bodies as an assistant operative officer at the Rivne District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He was one of the first to express a desire to serve in the special police battalion. In June 2025, he was deployed to the Donetsk region, where he was injured during an enemy airstrike. Unfortunately, the 38-year-old senior police sergeant died on November 3, 2025, during treatment.

Yuriy Lapchuk is survived by two minor children, his parents, and an older brother.

Yuriy Trofymchuk, born on February 11, 1988, in the village of Maryniv, moved to Rivne with his family during childhood. He studied at School No. 12 and Vocational School No. 1. Trofymchuk worked as a builder not only in Rivne but also on projects across Ukraine. He did not serve in the army due to health issues.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Yuriy wanted to voluntarily defend Ukraine, but he was advised to wait by the military enlistment office. He was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in July 2024.

“He said, ‘I don’t want the orcs to come to our territory, to Rivne region.’ He was very concerned about women and children. And he always added: who, if not me,” recalls the defender’s sister.

Family and friends remembered Yuriy Trofymchuk as kind and generous, always willing to share everything for the sake of others. Unfortunately, the 37-year-old soldier was killed on February 27, 2025, during enemy assault actions in the Kursk region. Yuriy is survived by a son, his mother, and a sister.
