In Rivne Region, farewell was said to eight defenders, including Mykola Voloshyn from Varash district, Yuriy Kharitonuk, Volodymyr Smirnov, Oleksandr Kyrylychuk, and Serhiy Dykyi from Rivne. Oleg Momotiuk was from Dubno, while Petro Nesterchuk and Anatoliy Demyanets were from Sarny.

Mykola Voloshyn, a native of the village of Zhovkivka, bravely joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, serving in the 104th Territorial Defense Brigade. His participation in combat operations required great effort, but due to deteriorating health, he was transferred to the position of cook. For his bravery and dedication, the 53-year-old soldier received the honors of “Combatant” and “War Veteran,” as well as numerous awards from the command of the 104th Territorial Defense Brigade and the Rivne Regional State Administration. Unfortunately, on March 30, while serving in Sumy region, the junior sergeant passed away.
Yuriy Kharitonuk, born on April 6, 1991, in the village of Zolochivka, Dubno district, became part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the autumn of 2022. He died on March 30, 2026, while performing a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia direction at the age of 34.
Volodymyr Smirnov, a native of Rivne, joined the military in July 2025. His life was cut short on March 22, 2026, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region.
Oleksandr Kyrylychuk, who will turn 30 on April 27, 2026, began his service in March 2016, defending Ukraine during the Anti-Terrorist Operation. After returning to the army in December 2022, he died on September 5, 2024, while performing a combat mission near the village of Heorhiivka in Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, having long been considered missing in action.
Serhiy Dykyi, born in 1978, served in the National Guard of Ukraine. He died on May 30, 2025, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region, and his identity was confirmed only after a DNA test.
Petro Nesterchuk, a resident of the village of Rokytne in Rokytne community, died on March 12, 2025, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region.
Anatoliy Demyanets, born in 1973 in the village of Yasynets, served as a sapper. Unfortunately, on March 28, 2026, his heart stopped in Chernihiv region.
Oleg Momotiuk, born in 1976, from the village of Tarakaniv, died on March 23, 2026, while performing a combat mission in Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region.
