Farewell ceremonies were held in Rivne Region for three defenders of Ukraine – Valeriy Myronov from the Kostopil community, Mykola Usenko from Rivne, and Serhiy Karuk from the Shpaniv territorial community.

Valeriy Myronov, born on September 4, 1970, in the village of Zhalyni, returned from Poland at the beginning of the full-scale war. In March 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving as a mechanic-machine gunner in the 251st Separate Battalion. During his service, he was stationed in Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions, later becoming a gunner in the mechanized battalion of the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade. On December 31, 2024, his family learned that Valeriy was missing in action in the Kursk region, and his death was recently confirmed through a DNA profile match.
Mykola Usenko, born on February 23, 1993, in Kerch, moved to Rivne after finishing school. In 2024, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his country. Unfortunately, the soldier was killed on April 7, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Serhiy Karuk, who was born on September 9, 1975, in the village of Velyky Oleksyn, was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine after graduating from technical school. He served in the air defense forces and bravely fulfilled his duty in the fight for Ukraine’s freedom and independence. Serhiy was killed on March 14, 2026, while performing a mission in the Kharkiv region.
