A resident of Rivne region will spend three years in prison.
A 27-year-old man, a native of the Rivne district, has been sentenced to three years of imprisonment. This decision was made by the appellate court, which granted the prosecutor’s appeal to overturn the previous exemption from liability.

It is known that the accused is a conscript, registered for military service, and was deemed fit for service during mobilization after a medical commission. However, he refused to accept the summons for conscription and did not appear at the assembly point of the territorial recruitment center.
The man claimed that his religious beliefs prohibit him from performing military service, believing that any involvement in military actions, even in the form of building fortifications or preparing food, could be considered as aiding and abetting murder.
Despite the lack of legal status for his religious denomination, the man did not agree to alternative military service and did not contest serving his sentence in prison.
