In Rivne, the appellate court reviewed the case of a 39-year-old man who was engaged in illegal drug trafficking. In January-February 2025, he stored the psychotropic substance PVP and the potent medication “diphenhydramine” at his home, which he sold to drug-dependent clients without leaving his house.

Law enforcement conducted several undercover purchases that confirmed his illegal activities.
The Rivne City Court found the man guilty in July of last year of illegal acquisition, storage, and distribution of prohibited substances in large quantities, as well as committing crimes involving potent medications (Part 2 of Article 307, Part 1 of Article 309, Part 1 of Article 321 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment but released him from serving the sentence on probation for a period of 3 years.
The prosecution appealed this verdict, leading to the case being reviewed in the appellate court. As a result, the court overturned the previous verdict and issued a new decision, sentencing the man to 5 years in prison. The drug dealer was arrested directly in the courtroom.
