The investigator from the investigative department at the scene preliminarily established that an 18-year-old resident of the village of Rokytne, driving a “Loncin” motorcycle, was traveling with a 16-year-old passenger — a resident of the village of Osnytsia.
On a curved section of the road, the driver did not take into account the road conditions, failed to maintain a safe speed and lateral distance, as a result of which he lost control and collided with a “DAF” truck driven by a 45-year-old resident of the village of Masevichi, which was coming towards him.
As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist died in the ambulance.
The passenger sustained a concussion, an intracranial injury, an open fracture of the leg, a head injury, and blunt abdominal trauma. He was hospitalized.
The investigator from the investigative department has initiated a pre-trial investigation.
