532 Dancers at Once: Rivne Region Sets a Ukrainian Record in Folk Dance

The first All-Ukrainian Festival of Ukrainian Folk Choreography “Polkovyi Rozmai” is taking place in Sarny and Rivne.

The festival features 12 groups from various regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Khmelnytskyi, as well as from Rivne region – from Sarny, Varash, Zoria, Dubno, and Rivne. In total, the event has brought together over 600 participants.

The main program of the festival is held in Sarny and includes concerts, master classes from leading choreographers, interactive parties with ethnic dances, as well as introducing children to the nature of Polissia and the amber region.

The highlight of the event was the establishment of the National Record of Ukraine for the largest performance of the Polissian dance “Pechenoye Porostya”. A total of 532 participants aged from 2 to 88 joined in the dance, which took place at the Sarny Ethnographic Museum.

The festival will conclude with a festive concert, which will take place tomorrow at the summer stage of Taras Shevchenko Park in Rivne.
