Air Pollution in Rivne: Phenol and Formaldehyde Exceed Norms

A study conducted by the Comprehensive Laboratory for Monitoring Environmental Pollution of the Rivne Hydro-Meteorological Center indicates critical levels of atmospheric pollution in Rivne from May 18 to May 23, 2026. During this period, the average daily concentrations of pollutants exceeded the maximum allowable concentrations (MAC).

Among the hazardous substances detected in the atmosphere were:

  • phenol – from 1.2 to 1.8 MAC (May 25 and 30);
  • formaldehyde – from 1.7 to 3.6 MAC (May 27 – 30).

MAC refers to the average daily maximum allowable concentrations of pollutants in the atmospheric air, approved by the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 813 dated May 10, 2024.
