Collection and Processing of Christmas Trees Begins in Rivne

In the territory of KATP 1728, Christmas trees are being shredded into chips.

This is reported by Rivne24

The municipal services of Rivne are actively engaged in the collection of used Christmas trees and their shredding. A special shredder is used to turn the trees and pines into chips, which are subsequently used for heating premises.

Residents of the community are asked to follow a few simple rules:

  • do not mix the trees with household or bulky waste and do not throw them into containers;
  • place the used trees separately, near the container sites.

Following these recommendations will allow KATP 1728’s equipment to access the collection sites without obstruction, pick up the trees, and transport them away. In areas where access is provided, the shredder operates right on site, shredding the trees immediately.

So far, the volume of collected Christmas trees is minimal, as more people are choosing artificial trees. Currently, the number of collected trees is about 20% of the volume from four years ago. This is the amount that municipal workers were able to collect in the first week of operations.
