The Sarny community received official confirmation of the death of serviceman Oleksandr Viktorovych Pasternak, who was killed while performing a combat mission in Donetsk.

Oleksandr was 32 years old. He was born in the village of Krychylsk and later his life was closely connected with Sarny. He studied at Sarny Lyceum No. 4 and graduated from VPU-22 in 2010, where he obtained the profession of a repair locksmith. In civilian life, he worked in the construction sector.
From the first days of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Oleksandr took up the defense of the state. On February 25, 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in military unit A0153. In June 2024, he was transferred to the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush, where he served as a grenadier and performed combat missions on the front line.
On June 24, 2024, near the settlement of Umanske in Donetsk, the soldier was killed while performing a combat mission, remaining faithful to his military oath and Ukraine until the end.
The farewell to Oleksandr Pasternak will take place on May 20.
The funeral procession will begin at 10:00 along the route:
Kostopilskaya — Yevropeiskaya — Dachna — Kvitkova.
- 10:15 — farewell at home (Kvitkova St., 357);
- 11:00 — memorial service at the Holy Protection Church on Kovel Street;
- 12:15 — burial at the Alley of Heroes on Sharpak Street.
