Five Defenders of Ukraine Laid to Rest in Rivne Region

Oleksandr Yaroțkyi from Sarny, Ivan Ryabushchyts from the Rokytne community, Volodymyr Hnidok from Volodymyrets, Vasyl Stepanuk from Volyn, and Roman Savchuk from Shpanivska TG.

Oleksandr Yaroțkyi, who was born and lived in Sarny, could not remain on the sidelines when the war began in Ukraine. Initially, he volunteered, repairing vehicles for the front. Later, he became a soldier and served as a driver in the airborne assault unit of military unit A7788. Communication with him was lost in February 2025, and in January 2026, news of his death became known.

Ivan Ryabushchyts, born in 1970, lived in the village of Kupel in the Volyn region before moving to Rivne. He served as a driver-electrician for the radar station of the 98th Air Defense Brigade. Unfortunately, on February 2, the serviceman passed away in the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital.

Volodymyr Hnidok, born in 1978 in the village of Novosilky, was laid to rest. He served as a shooter-assistant grenade launcher in one of the military units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Volodymyr died on January 29, 2026.

Vasyl Stepanuk, born on June 14, 1985, in Kovel, joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in April 2024. He was killed on July 21, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk.

Roman Savchuk, born on August 9, 1977, was from Shpaniv. Since 2014, he actively served in the Armed Forces, participating in anti-terrorist operations and military operations during the full-scale invasion. His courage and dedication to service earned him deep respect among his comrades. Due to illness, Roman was forced to leave military service, but unfortunately, his heart stopped on February 3, 2026.
