Fraudsters Deceive 18-Year-Old Woman from Rivne, Stealing Nearly 10,000 Hryvnias

Fraudsters continue to devise new schemes of deception in an era when credit cards have become an integral part of everyday life.

This is reported by Rivne24

The perpetrators call their victims, posing as employees of financial institutions or insurance agents, and offer new fraud protection programs. They use professional jargon in an attempt to intimidate potential clients, claiming that without proper insurance, their savings could be at risk.

After receiving consent to activate the “service,” the fraudsters ask for credit card information, such as the password and CVV code, or request confirmation of the transaction via SMS or by clicking on a provided link.

As a result, the money quickly disappears, and the “insurers” stop responding.

Thus, the 18-year-old woman from Rivne became a victim of fraud, losing 9,600 hryvnias.

Law enforcement is currently working to identify the perpetrators.
