The Rivne Court of Appeal has made a decision regarding the change of preventive measures for two individuals suspected of organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.
This is reported by Rivne24
The offenders were apprehended in April of this year in the Sarny region, when one of them was transporting “clients” to the border, while the other was carrying their belongings. Two more accomplices were detained in Rivne.
The cost of illegal transportation ranged from 7,000 to 10,000 US dollars per person.
The court initially chose preventive measures in the form of detention with the possibility of bail for all suspects. For two of them, the bail was set at 332,800 UAH, while for the others it was 133,120 UAH.
The prosecution, disagreeing with these measures, appealed the court’s decision regarding the two transporters.
Today, the appellate court upheld the prosecutor’s arguments and increased the bail amount to 332,800 UAH. Until the bail is posted, the suspects will remain in the detention center, having been taken into custody directly in the courtroom.
