Match between Veres and Metalist 1925 halted due to lighting issues

On December 7, in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv’s Metalist 1925 was scheduled to play a home match against Rivne’s Veres.

This is reported by Rivne24

The match, planned for 15:30, could not start on time due to a power outage at the stadium where the Kharkiv team plays.

“The teams are waiting for the generators at the Zhytomyr stadium to be started and for the artificial lighting to work.”

As a result, the match was able to start, but the game lasted only 9 minutes. After that, lighting issues arose again, and the referee stopped the game, taking the teams off the field.

The match resumed after a while, but the teams managed to play only three minutes before the lights went out again. The teams could not continue the match properly, as the lighting at the stadium kept turning off, forcing the referee to stop the game once more.

After the match was restarted in the 18th minute, the lights went out again after 2 minutes, leading to the final whistle from referee Vitaliy Romanov, who announced that the match would not take place.

Currently, Metalist 1925 occupies the eighth position in the Ukrainian Premier League standings with 21 points after 14 matches, while Veres is in 10th place with 18 points.
