Ruslan Vitryk, born on February 27, 1979, in Rivne, received his education at Lyceums No. 12 and No. 13, and later mastered the carpenter profession at Vocational School No. 1. After completing his studies, he worked at the company “Akord-S.”

In January 2023, Ruslan was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He had long intended to join the military, but his responsibility for his younger daughter held him back. After receiving his summons, he did not hesitate to undergo the medical commission and took up the defense of his homeland.

Unfortunately, 44-year-old Ruslan Vitryk was killed on February 7, 2024, in the Donetsk direction. For over a year, he was considered missing in action.

The installation of memorial plaques in honor of fallen defenders of Ukraine at general secondary education institutions in the Rivne community is being implemented as part of the program “Rivne – City of Heroes.”
