The head coach of Rivne’s Veres, Oleg Shandruk, summarized his team’s victorious match against Rukh.

Shandruk noted that the team lacked composure in the final stages of their attacks, which led to a tense finish to the match. “When we practice most of the time, the players calmly convert such moments. We just needed a bit more composure and patience,” the coach said.
He added that the team could have scored goals calmly without bringing the game to a stressful finale: “Because it would be very disappointing to lose a victory at home again.” Shandruk also emphasized that the game against Epicenter in Ternopil was decent, and there was no need to adjust the starting lineup in training, although he is not against rotations, as competition is important.
At the end of the match, the team made a tactical substitution, sending Ihor Kharatin as the fifth defender, understanding that Rukh would start using long passes. “We had no right to play like that – it’s about concentration,” Shandruk noted.
The coach believes that the intrigue until the end of the match was beneficial for the fans, but he would have preferred if the team had converted their chances and finished the game with a score of 2:0. “But it’s good that we won. Let’s not anger God. We have three points, which are very important,” he emphasized, congratulating the fans on the home victory.
Shandruk also highlighted the performance of Vitaliy Boyko, who scored the second decisive goal in a row: “That’s his role, and he fulfills it. We constantly ask why he doesn’t shoot more often, as he has a very good shot.” The coach expressed satisfaction that Boyko feels his ability to score and looks for opportunities even in training.
Regarding Ihnat Pushkuts’ exit, Shandruk noted that they made a tactical substitution but also wanted to thank him for yesterday’s game and his efforts in training. “We hope he will trust the process and wait for his moments at the UPL level,” the coach concluded.
