The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, has dismantled a channel for the illegal transportation of conscription-age men across the state border of Ukraine in the Rivne region.
This is reported by Rivne24
As part of the investigation, it was established that four residents of the region were involved in organizing this criminal scheme. The organizer turned out to be a 20-year-old resident of the Sarny district. He recruited three accomplices into the illegal activity, one of whom had previously come to the attention of law enforcement for similar offenses.
The criminals sought “clients” among military-eligible men who were trying to avoid mobilization. They used personal connections and intermediaries for this purpose. The cost of the “services” was 7 thousand US dollars per person.
The participants in the scheme operated with a clear division of roles: the organizer coordinated actions and searched for “clients,” while the others facilitated transfers to border areas and provided instructions on how to bypass checkpoints and roadblocks.
Law enforcement officers caught two of the suspects “in the act” while attempting to illegally transport a resident of the Zhytomyr region across the border, as well as three residents of Rivne region.
Two more participants, including the organizer, were detained while receiving 21 thousand US dollars, which were handed over through a concealed stash in Rivne.
Based on the collected evidence, the organizer and three of his accomplices have been notified of suspicion under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine).
Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and to hold accountable other involved individuals.
