Former forward of Rivne’s “Veres” and the Turkish U-23 national team Eren Aydin commented on his transfer to Azerbaijani “Zira” and explained the reasons that prompted him to leave the Ukrainian championship:

“My transfer happened in one day. Our head coach and the club management supported me. I am very happy to be here. We signed a contract for four months. During this time, I will do my best and try to show my best game,” he noted.
When asked if the reason for his departure from Ukraine was related to the war, or if he chose “Zira” and Azerbaijan for their prospects, Aydin replied:
“The reason for my departure from Ukraine… Of course, there was a high threat to my life. Electricity was constantly being cut off, and I continued to live under such conditions. I asked my club for permission to leave.”
He emphasized that the club hindered his transfers, despite offers from Portugal and the Turkish Super League. “I had to leave; I could not ignore the threats to my life,” Aydin added.
“The danger was indeed real. I left the country. And then the transfer window was closed everywhere. Thank you to “Zira,” the club supported me, and everyone trusted me. I will do my best,” he concluded.
When asked if he could receive a new contract if he performs well over the next four months, Aydin replied:
“Of course, I will do everything that depends on me. And then… Time will tell. Anything is possible. I might stay here, or I might move to a stronger club. We will find out at the end of the season,” he noted.
