Rivne Region to Bid Farewell to Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Kravchuk

The Dubno community will hold a farewell ceremony for the defender of Ukraine, Lieutenant Oleksiy Kravchuk, born in 1986, on Sunday, January 11, at 1:00 PM in Independence Square.

This is reported by Rivne24

Oleksiy Kravchuk, along with his family, was forced to leave his hometown of Skadovsk in the Kherson region in April 2022 and moved to the Dubno community. By May, he had joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he became the commander of a machine gun platoon in the 1st Mechanized Battalion.

Unfortunately, the life of this brave warrior was cut short on August 17, 2024, in the Kharkiv region while carrying out a combat mission. Until that time, Oleksiy had been considered missing in action, but recently confirmation of his death was received.

The farewell ceremony in Independence Square will conclude with a funeral service at the Holy Ilyinsky Cathedral in the city of Dubno, where the Hero will be laid to rest in the Alley of Glory. In a sign of mourning, January 11, 2026, has been declared a Day of Mourning in Dubno.
