Yesterday, January 18, around 01:00, while patrolling the village of Mali Zholudsk, officers from the patrol police response sector noticed a passenger car of the “Mercedes” brand, whose license plate was completely dirty.

While communicating with the driver, the law enforcement officers detected signs of alcohol intoxication. However, the young man refused to undergo a breathalyzer test and did not have a driver’s license with him.

During the processing of administrative materials, the young man offered the police officers an unlawful benefit. Despite numerous warnings about criminal liability, the 18-year-old resident of the village of Mali Zholudsk placed 100 euros in the cup holder of the police vehicle.

The investigator opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 1 of Article 369 (offering, promising, or providing an unlawful benefit to a public official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In addition, the police officers drew up three administrative protocols against the driver under Part 1 of Article 130 (driving a vehicle while intoxicated), Part 2 of Article 126 (driving a vehicle by a person without a driver’s license), and Part 1 of Article 122-2 (driving a vehicle with a dirty license plate) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
