Sports Achievements and Military Service

Sports played an important role in Denys’s life. He was a professional kickboxer, boxer, and martial artist, winning 43 medals and becoming the champion of Ukraine in boxing. In his matches, the young man demonstrated willpower, endurance, and resilience.

His desire to become a soldier was influenced by his father, who has been defending Ukraine since 2014. He actively participated in the defense of Kyiv region and carried out combat missions in the territories of Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. From January 2025, he continued his service in the Separate Center for Special Operations “EAST” named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave as a senior operator of the special forces group of the special operations unit.

For his courage and dedication, Denys was awarded numerous honors, including the President’s award “For the Defense of Ukraine.”

Comrades remember Denys as a balanced and reliable serviceman who always confidently completed tasks and remained calm in the most difficult situations.

Unfortunately, 23-year-old Sergeant Denys Medvediuk was killed on August 19, 2025, while performing a special mission in the Bryansk region of the aggressor state. For a long time, he was considered missing in action, and only recently was his body identified.
