Volodymyr Zyma was born on May 28, 1987, in the village of Korynyn in the Rivne region. He received his education at a local school, after which he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving in the airborne assault troops.

After his military service, Volodymyr returned to civilian life, working in a carpentry workshop in the village of Kvasyliv. He was a master of his craft, valuing honesty and responsibility. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr took up the defense of his homeland.
βFor his child and loved ones, he was always a caring, kind, and resourceful man, a reliable support and a loving father. Although life paths with his wife eventually diverged, Volodymyr maintained a close connection with his family until his last day, remaining a true friend and helper,β said the Defenderβs sister.
Unfortunately, 38-year-old soldier Volodymyr Zyma was killed on April 17, 2026, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region.
The Defender is survived by a daughter and a sister.
The farewell to Volodymyr Zyma will take place on Sunday, April 26, at 10:00 AM in Independence Square in Rivne. The serviceman will be buried at the cemetery in the village of Korynyn.
