A 31-year-old man, who previously had legal troubles, committed theft again. He faces a punishment of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years.
This is reported by Rivne24
On October 11, around 03:00, an unknown man entered the territory of a private household on Pokrovska Street. This was captured by surveillance cameras, and the 43-year-old owner called the security police.
The perpetrator broke into the house by smashing a window with a metal rod and managed to steal a collectible silver coin and car keys. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the man threw away a bag with a laptop and attempted to flee but was apprehended.
The investigative and operational group of the Rivne Police Department seized the stolen property.
It is noted that just a few hours prior, the detained man had already committed a theft: on Olena Teliha Street, he took a laptop and a bottle of premium alcohol from a construction trailer through an open window.
The total amount of damages inflicted on the victims is nearly 35,000 hryvnias.
The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. Currently, the issue of notifying him of suspicion for committing crimes under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (thefts committed under martial law conditions) is being resolved.
