Award Ceremony for the “Heroes of the Sports Year 2025”
The ceremonial event “Heroes of the Sports Year 2025” took place in Rivne Region, honoring the best athletes and coaches of the area.

The honorary certificate from the head of the regional state administration was awarded to:
- Petro Tymofiyuk – a war veteran, multiple winner and medalist of the Rivne Region Sports Games for individuals with disabilities;
- The amputee football team “Veres Mriya” – silver medalists of the “League of Strong” Cup.
Among those honored were:
- Dmytro Kotovskyi – Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in freestyle, nominated for “Best Athlete of the Year in Olympic Sports”;
- Olena Tsyhankova – Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class in kayaking and canoeing, nominated for “Best Female Athlete of the Year in Olympic Sports”;
- Serhiy Bondar – Honored Coach of Ukraine in shooting, nominated for “Best Coach of the Year in Olympic Sports”;
- Lyudmyla Nos – Honored Coach of Ukraine in freestyle, nominated for “Best Female Coach of the Year in Olympic Sports”;
- Oleh Zhokh – Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in arm wrestling, nominated for “Best Athlete of the Year in Non-Olympic Sports”;
- Sofia Kushnir – Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class in sumo and beach wrestling, nominated for “Best Female Athlete of the Year in Non-Olympic Sports”;
- Oleksandr Komarevych – Honored Coach of Ukraine in arm wrestling, nominated for “Best Coach of the Year in Non-Olympic Sports”;
- Nataliia Belash-Anikina – coach in sumo and beach wrestling, nominated for “Best Female Coach of the Year in Non-Olympic Sports”;
- The team “Rivne-OSHVSM” (basketball) in the nomination “Best Men’s Team of the Year”;
- The team “Rivne-DYUSSH No. 4” (handball) in the nomination “Best Women’s Team of the Year”;
- Illya Lash – Master of Sports of Ukraine in shooting and Yelyzaveta Boyarska – candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in freestyle, nominated for “Breakthrough of the Year”.
The “Strong in Spirit” award was given to:
- Illya Rytov – Master of Sports of Ukraine in swimming among athletes with hearing impairments, bronze medalist of the XXV Summer Deaflympics;
- Kateryna Shepelyuk – Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in judo among athletes with hearing impairments, two-time champion of the XXV Summer Deaflympics in judo.
Among the coaches recognized were:
- Mykhailo Romankevych – Honored Coach of Ukraine in judo;
- Olha Palyukh – Honored Coach of Ukraine in swimming.
The “Best Sports Organizer” award was given to Bohdan Romanovych – head of the public organization “Federation of Mixed Martial Arts of Rivne Region”.
Volodymyr Hordiichuk, a coach at the Zdolbuniv DYUSSH, was recognized for “Sports Glory of Rivne Region”.
