Today, Velykyi Mydsk welcomed its fellow countryman — soldier Yuriy Dashkel, who returned home after a long captivity and rehabilitation.
This is reported by Rivne24
Yuriy Dashkel began defending his homeland on August 24, 2022, serving in the 63rd Brigade. He carried out combat missions in the Kherson direction, as well as near Bakhmut and Lyman. During his service, he was wounded but did not abandon his duties.
In July 2023, during battles near Dibrivka, Yuriy lost contact. Initially, he was considered missing in action, but it later became clear that he had been captured.
The soldier spent 765 days in captivity — more than two years.
On August 24 of this year, Yuriy was released from captivity. After that, he underwent rehabilitation and has now returned to his hometown.
