The accident occurred today, September 26, at around 08:15 on the “Horodyshche-Rivne-Starokostiantyniv” highway near the village of Kruhlye.

The investigator preliminarily established that the driver of the “DAF” truck, a 43-year-old resident of the village of Kustyn, failed to maintain a safe speed and distance, resulting in a collision with a passing “Scania” vehicle, driven by a 48-year-old resident of the village of Chudely. The latter began to slow down due to a technical malfunction of his vehicle.
At the same time, another “DAF” truck driver, a 29-year-old resident of the village of Kustyn, who was traveling in the same direction, did not manage to react to the changing road conditions and also collided with the aforementioned vehicles.
As a result of the accident, the 43-year-old truck driver was injured. Police, along with rescuers, extricated him from the vehicle, after which the man was hospitalized with multiple injuries.
According to the examination results, all drivers were sober. An investigation is currently underway.
