Andrii Gryshkevych, born on October 13, 1996, studied at Kvasyliv Secondary School. From an early age, he displayed curiosity and a bright mind. After obtaining his education at the Transport College, specializing in “International Transportation by Road,” he continued his studies at the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use, where he received a higher education. After completing his studies, he worked as a customs control broker, demonstrating responsibility and diligence in his work.

Andrii was always a kind and sincere young man who easily connected with people due to his warmth and honesty. Family held a special place in his life, as he genuinely loved and cared for his loved ones.

Sports were another passion of Andrii’s: he played football, swam, seriously trained in boxing, and completed over 40 parachute jumps. However, alongside his physical strength, he had a creative nature. Loving music, Andrii taught himself to play various instruments, including the guitar and keyboard. His voice and the songs he wrote reflected the depth of his soul.

In May 2020, Andrii decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine by signing a military service contract and was assigned to the National Guard of Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, when the full-scale invasion began, he was at home, but by February 25, he was called to the military, where he continued to defend his homeland.

Unfortunately, in June 2024, Andrii Gryshkevych was killed while honorably fulfilling his military duty and defending the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The installation of memorial plaques for fallen defenders of Ukraine in secondary educational institutions of the Rivne community is part of the “Rivne – City of Heroes” program.
