The hosts opened the scoring in the 13th minute when, after a misunderstanding between Valentyn Horokh and Dmytro Klyots, Mykola Haiduchyk intercepted the ball and assisted Tomer Yosifi, who easily found the net.
Polissya continued to control the game but failed to convert several opportunities to extend their lead, particularly during Mykola Haiduchyk’s one-on-one chance with the goalkeeper.
Veres equalized at the end of the third quarter when Rostyslav Taranukha scored from close range after a mistake by Zhytomyr goalkeeper Oleg Kudryk.
However, in stoppage time of the fourth quarter, Polissya regained the lead. Denys Hryshkevych delivered a pass to Oleksandr Filippov, who managed to score after a deflection off the crossbar, setting the final score at 2:1.
The next match for Veres in the Ukrainian Premier League will take place on November 23 in Kryvyi Rih against Kryvbas.
