In November 2025, a serviceman from the village of Zabolottia, Serhiy Stepanovych Samoydiuk, received a high state award — the Order of “Courage” III Class.

Serhiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 1, 2022, a month before the start of the full-scale invasion, leaving his job in the thermal automation and measurements workshop (TAMW) of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant to defend his homeland.
During his service, he proved to be a brave and responsible warrior, carrying out combat missions in the hottest areas: Kherson, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.
Serhiy is currently continuing his service in the 78th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
This award is not his first. He previously received the badge “Golden Cross” (2023) and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine’s award “Iron Cross” (2024).
