On November 18, a 41-year-old woman from Kostopol contacted the police, expressing grievances against the family doctor for inadequate examination of her 3-year-old daughter, which resulted in the child’s later death.
It was established that on November 9, the girl began to complain of abdominal pain, and her mother consulted a doctor. Three days later, the girl was hospitalized at the regional hospital, where she underwent surgery on November 12. However, two days later, during a repeat operation, the girl died.
The investigative authorities have initiated a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning the improper performance of professional duties by a medical or pharmaceutical worker.
The investigation is ongoing, expert examinations have been appointed, and the details of the incident are being established.
