A Man Arrested in Rivne for Burglary

The man, who already has a criminal record for similar offenses, could face imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years.

The police received a report of a burglary from a 64-year-old resident of Rivne on October 22 at around 10 a.m.

The investigative team established that the perpetrator gained entry into the residence by prying open a window, from which he stole 200 dollars, 8,000 hryvnias, and gold jewelry, causing the owner property damage amounting to over 130,000 hryvnias.

Criminal investigation officers and the criminal analysis sector needed only a few hours to identify the suspect. He turned out to be a 42-year-old resident of Rivne, whom the police located on Vasyl Chervoniy Street.

The perpetrator was arrested in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in custody in a temporary detention facility.

Currently, the issue of notifying him of suspicion under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft committed under martial law) and choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
