Head coach of the Veres U-19 team, Stanislav Upilkov, shared his impressions after the victory in the match against Luhansk Zorya, where his players competed with a numerical disadvantage.

Upilkov noted that the Zorya team started the game very cautiously, but Veres managed to create several dangerous moments early in the match. “Robert Gazazyan could have scored, and Nazariy Miklyash along with Vladislav Saychishyn also had chances,” the coach added.
However, after a series of mistakes in the midfield under pressure from the opponent, Veres lost control of the game. “For about ten minutes, I hardly recognized my team,” the coach emphasized.
He pointed out that although the boys worked until the last minute, he was dissatisfied with the quality of play. “We asked to work the flanks, but there were practically no crosses. There was little sharpness, the ball was not held in attack, and we rushed things,” Upilkov noted.
The coach also highlighted issues with the rhythm of the game, where the team struggled to organize clear transitions between defense and attack. “The midfield players quickly got tired, and the opponent found free spaces,” he explained, commenting on the red card in the second half.
Upilkov also drew attention to the mistakes made by Robert Gazazyan, while supporting him by stating that “he should not make such mistakes at this level.” “We will have a conversation with the player, as he complicated life for the team,” the coach added.
Despite the difficulties, Upilkov positively assessed the spectacular finish of the match, when Dmytro Matkivskyi showcased his skill by scoring with his weaker foot. “Such a victory is very valuable, as Zorya has played six matches without conceding in nine games. They are one of the leaders of the championship,” he noted.
The coach congratulated the fans, the team, and the coaching staff on earning the three points and expressed readiness to prepare for the upcoming games.
