Koloss Coach on the Match Against Veres: Fans Showed Eccentricity

The head coach of Koloss from Kovalyvka, Ruslan Kostiushyn, commented on his team’s game against Veres from Rivne.

– The game was interesting, although perhaps not as spectacular as the fans had hoped. Veres is a serious opponent, with whom even Dynamo and Shakhtar have had problems. So why should we expect an easy victory? Our team is not ready for that yet.

We tried to play attacking football; some moments worked out, others did not. But I praised my players a lot for this draw. They were disappointed with the result, which indicates that the team is eager for victory.

Regarding the moment with Andriy Tsurykov at the beginning of the game, if he had hit Yuriy Klymchuk’s leg, it could have been a great goal. Should he have taken the shot at that moment? I don’t know; the decision was his, but technically he failed to capitalize on that opportunity.

Why did I go to the stands with the Veres fans after the match? My players decided to go there, and as a coach, I defend my team. The fans behaved somewhat eccentrically, but that is their right. I will always stand by my players.
