Every year, over 3,000 residents of Rivne region learn they have cancer.
This is reported by Rivne24
Since the beginning of the year, 1,305 cancer patients have been registered in the region for the first time, including 9 children. Women are the most frequent visitors to doctors, as breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed. Over the past three years, the incidence of this disease has been increasing, with an additional 15-20 cases each year.
In the Rivne region, patients have the opportunity to receive medical assistance at two specialized institutions: the Rivne Regional Oncology Center and the Luhansk Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary, which was relocated from Kreminna and is currently operating in Sarny. Additionally, several multidisciplinary hospitals in the region also provide necessary services to patients and have NSZU packages.
At the same time, the oncology center is undergoing an upgrade of its medical equipment. A modern linear accelerator, Elekta Harmony, is already in operation, providing high-quality radiation therapy, along with a computed tomography scanner. Plans include the purchase of a magnetic resonance imaging machine and an X-ray machine.
