Corruption Case of Kostiopil Secretary to be Heard in District Court

The case of the Kostiopil secretary and the deputy is being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigations

The State Bureau of Investigations is conducting an investigation into the Kostiopil City Council secretary, David Didukh, and deputy Oleksandr Bilera. It has recently become known that the case will be heard in the Kostiopil District Court.

According to the case materials, the suspects previously visited Kyiv to provide testimony.

They are charged under part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to “accepting an offer, promise, or receiving an improper benefit by a public official.”

According to the investigation materials, Didukh and Bilera demanded a bribe from a local entrepreneur in the form of a free transfer of a land plot measuring 0.38 hectares, with a market value exceeding 1.3 million hryvnias. The plot was to be transferred to an individual under the control of the acting mayor.

David Didukh himself stated that the case was initiated for political reasons.

After his arrest, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
