The Rokytne District Court issued a verdict against 70-year-old Hanna Vodopyan, who organized a bribery scheme by editing deployment lists to combat zones in one of the military units. Together with her nephew, who began to testify against her after the exposure, the woman received a fine of 51,000 hryvnias.

According to the verdict issued on September 9, from July 2023 to June 2025, Hanna Vodopyan, a resident of the village of Berezove in the Sarny district, used her connections to influence the decisions of the local military unit’s command by forming lists for deployments to the front. She added or removed certain names for money.
Hanna’s nephew, who served in this unit, played an important role in the scheme. He sought out individuals who wanted to avoid being sent to the front, collected money from them, and passed it on to his relative. He demanded about 5,000 dollars for the removal of one name from the deployment order.
The scheme was uncovered thanks to military personnel who reported the crime. After his arrest, the nephew decided to cooperate with the investigation and provided testimony against his aunt. During the pre-trial investigation, Hanna Vodopyan fully admitted her guilt and entered into an agreement with the prosecutor.
Judge Maria Kachmar found Hanna Vodopyan guilty of abuse of influence committed in conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and imposed a fine of 51,000 hryvnias. The decision can be appealed in the appellate court.
