In Rivne, the driver of the car, who fatally hit a motorcyclist in an accident, was detained under Part 1 of Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He has been informed of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to violations of traffic safety rules that led to the death of the victim.
The court has already determined a preventive measure in the form of detention, and the suspect remains in custody.
The investigator has completed the pre-trial investigation, and the materials of the criminal proceedings have been sent to court.
According to the sanction of the relevant article, the punishment may range from 3 to 8 years of imprisonment.
