Court Orders Community in Rivne Region to Regulate Coastal Zone

The Rivne District Administrative Court has issued a ruling that satisfies the lawsuit of the State Environmental Inspection, recognizing the inaction of the Verbivka Village Council as unlawful.

This is reported by Rivne24

During the inspection, it was found that the community had not fulfilled its delegated powers in the area of land management and protection of water fund lands.

In particular, the boundaries of the coastal protective strips of water bodies had not been defined within the community, and the corresponding data had not been entered into the State Land Cadastre. Furthermore, the boundaries of the local significance hydrological reserve “Verba Tract” had not been established.

According to the court’s decision, the village council is required to define the boundaries of coastal strips and territories of the nature reserve fund, develop and approve the necessary land management documentation, and enter all data into the cadastre.
