Driver in Rivne Region Flees from Police and Causes Accident

Last night, the police received a report about a driver of a Nissan Tiida who was violating traffic rules.

Police officers located the vehicle on the highway near Korynyn and signaled for it to stop using lights and sirens. However, instead of stopping, the driver accelerated and began to flee.

During the escape, in Korynyn, he lost control and crashed into a fence.

Both the vehicle and the fence sustained mechanical damage, but fortunately, the driver did not require medical assistance.

While communicating with the 51-year-old man, the police noticed signs of alcohol intoxication and offered him a sobriety test, which he refused.

The vehicle was towed to an impound lot, and several administrative materials were drawn up against the offender:

  • under part 1 of Article 130 (Driving under the influence or refusal to undergo testing) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses;
  • under Article 124 (Traffic violation resulting in an accident) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses;
  • under Article 122-2 (Failure to comply with a stop signal) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses;
  • under part 1 of Article 122 (Violation of road marking requirements) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
