The investigation established that a 45-year-old driver of a “Mercedes Benz” failed to exercise due care, did not reduce speed, and struck a 12-year-old girl from the village of Horodok, who was crossing the road at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing. The driver had the technical ability to avoid the collision but did not take the necessary measures.

As a result of the accident, the child sustained a leg fracture and was hospitalized.

The driver was detained. According to the examination results, he was in a state of intoxication – the Dräger device recorded 3.28 promille.

The investigator informed the driver of the suspicion, and the court chose a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the case materials have been submitted to the court.

The crime is considered aggravated as it was committed against a minor.
