Entrepreneur in Rivne Region Embezzled 409 Thousand Hryvnias from the Community

A private entrepreneur has been charged with the use of a knowingly forged document and fraud committed in conspiracy with a group of individuals under martial law, causing significant harm to the victim (Part 1 of Article 358, Part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, a 40-year-old entrepreneur entered into an agreement with the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Varash City Council for the capital repair of the facade of one of the buildings in the district center.

However, after insulating the facade, knowing that the work had not been completed in full, the man used a forged act of completed work and unlawfully obtained funds amounting to 409 thousand hryvnias. This caused significant material damage to the Varash territorial community.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, conducted by investigators of the Varash District Police Department of the National Police in the Rivne region.

For his actions, the entrepreneur may face a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
