A farewell ceremony was held in the Rivne region for six soldiers who died defending Ukraine. Among them were: Leonid Kovalchuk from the Volodymyrets community, Andriy Yakobchuk from Mlyniv, Vasyl Kondratiuk from Ostroh, Pavlo Kyrylychuk, Pavlo Striletskyi, and Serhiy Belov from Rivne.

Stories of the Fallen Defenders
Leonid Kovalchuk was born in the village of Zhovkyni in the Volodymyrets community. In May 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving as a telephone operator and line supervisor in the communications section of the 2nd mechanized battalion. For his bravery and conscientious performance of his duties, Leonid was awarded the honorary “Golden Cross.” He died on October 26 during an enemy shelling in the Kharkiv region.
Andriy Yakobchuk was born in 1990 and lived in the town of Mlyniv. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March 2022, holding the position of junior sergeant and commander of an assault unit. Initially reported missing in action, his death was confirmed on October 15, 2025, through DNA testing.
Vasyl Kondratiuk was born on December 27, 1992, in Ostroh. In 2022, he signed a contract and became a serviceman in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died on June 29, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region.
Pavlo Kyrylychuk was born on August 17, 1990, in Rivne. He was one of the first to approach the Territorial Recruitment Center during the full-scale invasion but only joined the military in 2023. Unfortunately, he died in battle in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Pavlo Striletskyi, born on April 21, 1985, in Rivne, had no military experience but joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in October last year. He died on December 17, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region. His body was identified only recently.
Serhiy Belov was born on August 23, 1984, in Rivne. He joined the National Guard in April 2023 and died on September 28, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in Luhansk.
