A fatal car accident occurred on October 13 at around 8:40 PM at the intersection of roads near the village of Pantalya.

According to preliminary data from the investigative department, a 23-year-old truck driver of a “DAF” from Volyn failed to yield while making a left turn. As a result, a collision occurred with a “VAZ” car, driven by a 46-year-old resident of the Zakarpattia region.
The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized; however, despite resuscitation efforts, he could not be saved. The man died a few hours after the accident.
The truck driver, who was uninjured, underwent a sobriety test, which showed he was sober.
An investigator from the investigative department has opened a criminal case regarding the violation of traffic safety rules that led to the victim’s death.
