Overall, Ukraine is experiencing a trend of decreasing marriage numbers. According to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, over 165,000 marriages were registered in the country in 2025, while the number of divorces amounted to 124,000.

It is noteworthy that in Ukraine, there are 7 divorces for every 10 marriages. The vast majority of divorces occur through the courts: in 2025, there were 98,503 recorded cases. Compared to the previous year, the number of court-ordered divorces decreased by 9%. Additionally, the number of divorces registered in the Civil Registry Office decreased by 23%, totaling 26,282 cases.

Although Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Lviv regions show a positive trend in the establishment of new families, Rivne remains among the leaders in the anti-rating for the number of new marriages. Only Cherkasy (-15%) and frontline Donetsk (-40%) have worse indicators.
