A 21-year-old resident of the village of Khotyn in the Rivne district is currently detained and held in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The traffic accident occurred on March 30 at 08:40 on the road between the villages of Berezne and Mokvyn.
According to preliminary data from the investigative department, the driver of the BMW car, while overtaking, crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a 55-year-old resident of the village of Mokvyn who was riding a bicycle.
As a result of the accident, the woman died at the scene. The impact was so severe that her body was torn apart. According to the examination, the driver of the car was sober.
The investigator has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of traffic safety rules that led to the victim’s death. Currently, the question of notifying the driver of suspicion is being resolved.
